Marbletown O&W Rail Trail Committee assisting NYS Parks Trail Survey this month
New York State Parks, in cooperation with the Marbletown O&W Rail Trail Committee, will be conducting a rail trail survey at the Marcott Road and Leggett Road trail heads during the month of August. Boxes with paper surveys, along with pre-addressed and stamped return envelopes to NYS Parks, will be available at the trail head kiosks.
The survey may also be completed on line. Instructions for completing the survey on line or via smart phone access will also be at the kiosks. Residents and visitors alike are urged to complete the survey that will provide a valuable information database for future improvements to our trail.
In addition, trail committee members will be conducting trail user counts near the Marcott and Leggett trail heads during August. These counts will track the types of users, i.e. walkers, joggers, bikers, horse back riders, dog walkers, etc. Trail usage counts and trail surveys play a very important part in obtaining state aid and grants for our trails.
