Hello Friends and Neighbors!
SAT APRIL 22, 2017 – 9AM – NOON
For Earth Day and Green-Up Days — on Saturday, April 22 from 9:00 AM until noon — we are asking local volunteers to pitch in for a Spring Clean-up in High Falls.
High Falls needs extra TLC this year because of the Bridge project, so if you can come out for even one hour it would be appreciated! And do you know any young people whom you could bring or encourage to go on their own! Please do!
Able-bodied volunteers are asked to meet at 9:00AM at the white tent at the corner of 2nd Street and Route 213, near DePuy Canal House. Volunteers are asked to wear long-sleeve shirts, long pants, waterproof boots and extra-sturdy gloves. Coffee and breakfast treats will be served.
Volunteers who can not come on April 22 are invited to conduct their own Spring roadside clean-up on their own schedule. Feel free to pick up free large garbage bags from us. (No dumping fees will apply when you bring them to the High Falls Transfer Station within one week of Earth week). First come, first served.
AFTER THE BRIDGE BEAUTIFICATION IN FALL 2017 – TBD
High Falls is also planning a Green-Up Days in the autumn, focused on local beautification after the new bridge is installed. We seek volunteer gardeners. This will be a joint project by the High Falls Civic Association and the High Falls Conservancy. Dates to be announced. Local businesses are invited to donate supplies and/or labor. John Messerschmidt of Poison Ivy Patrol Specialty Landscaping will donate crew labor for chemical-free invasive plant removal.
To volunteer or donate to Green-Up Days, or to obtain more information, visit highfallscivic.org/ or call (845) 687-3473.
Leslee Rachel will be there at the table checking people in.
