Vital Statistics Information
 | As
Registrar of Vital Statistics, the Clerks Office maintains birth,
death and marriage records for events that occur in the Town. Earliest
records date back to 1881. The older records are of great interest to
people researching family histories. In order to be eligible for
genealogy searches a birth record must be at least seventy-five years
old and death and marriage records must be at least fifty years old.
Recently the price to obtain genealogy records was increased from $11
to $22 per record requested.
More recent records (those not eligible for genealogy searches)
are available only to the individual of record, a legal representative,
a state, federal, or municipal agency for official purposes and certain
others according to New York State Health Department requirements.
Copies of these documents are often needed in matters regarding
settling property, estate, insurance and other legal matters.
Please visit the New York State Department Health link to obtain forms and general information or call this office for assistance.
