PLEASE READ AND SHARE

The summer season is here, and many seek ways to cool off during warm and humid weather. Be aware, though, that swimming is prohibited at Central Hudson’s property in High Falls along the Rondout Creek. The site houses an active hydro-electric station, transmission lines and an electric substation, and must be secured and respected. Visitors may fish, use a kayak or walk through the property. However, recreational activities such as (but not limited to) cookouts, campfires, playing loud music, swimming and large gatherings near the water are prohibited. Visitors may not bring in coolers, lawn chairs, swimming attire, alcoholic beverages, flotation devices, sporting gear, etc. Security presence at the site will enforce the rules and hours, which are from dawn to dusk. During the pandemic, all social distancing rules apply. Remember, people live here, too, and we ask visitors to please respect the property and the surrounding community. Have a safe and happy summer! -Central Hudson 7.2.2020
