The results will be used to inform the development of the Community Preservation Plan, an overview of all the planning efforts previously developed in Marbletown as well as an inclusive GIS survey of natural resources and historic sites.

The Marbletown Community Preservation Task Force is a committee formed solely to develop the Community Preservation Plan to submit to the Town Board for adoption in July*. The Community Preservation Plan becomes the basis for a Community Preservation Fund (CPF), created by local law, which is used by the Town to collect a transfer tax on real estate transactions and used to acquire parcels or conservation easements on parcels identified in the CPP. This plan is a state requirement.

*Public Hearings will be held in June.
