About the Planning & Zoning Department

The Planning and Zoning Department processes all requests for subdivisions, site plan approvals, variances, special use permits and other planning and zoning matters, such as allowable uses of a property and zoning restriction questions. If you are interested in any of the above, your first step is to call, visit or email the Planning and Zoning Secretary, Shaye Davis to obtain the necessary guidance and applications and, if need be, to be placed on the agenda of either the Planning Board or Zoning Board of Appeals.

The Planning and Zoning Department can also assist residents with maps, information regarding previously approved applications, data and information relevant to properties within the Town. For the best service, please schedule an appointment with the Planning or  Zoning Secretary.

The Planning Board reviews subdivision applications, site plan approvals and lot line adjustment applications. The Planning Board meets on the second Monday of every month at Town Hall, starting at 6:00pm.  Applicants must apply in advance to be placed on the agenda. The deadline to be placed on the Agenda is two weeks and one day prior to the scheduled meeting.

The Zoning Board of Appeals reviews variances and appeals. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, starting at 6:00pm, at Town Hall. Applicants must apply in advance to be placed on the agenda. The deadline for being placed on an Agenda is two weeks and one day prior to the scheduled meeting.
